    • In time series modeling, particularly when using ARIMA models, autocorrelation plays a key role in selecting the appropriate lag terms.

    • For example, an AR (AutoRegressive) model uses autocorrelation to determine how many lagged observations to include. The PACF (Partial Autocorrelation Function) helps identify the exact lags that contribute significantly.

  3. Stationarity Check:

    • Stationarity, which means that the statistical properties of the series are constant over time, is essential for many time series models.
