Indian Statistical Institute
The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) was registered on 28th April, 1932 as a non-profit distributing learned society under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1860. The outstanding contributions made by the Institute in theoretical and applied statistical work culminated in the recognition of the Institute as an “Institute of National Importance” by an Act of the Parliament in 1959. The Headquarters of ISI is located at Kolkata. It has four centers located at Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Tezpur. Offices of the Institute, located in several other cities in India, are primarily engaged in projects and consultancy in Statistical Quality Control and Operations Research.
